do you treat hyperthyroid,"No, we do not treat hyperthyroidism. We are currently only able to treat patients who have been formally diagnosed with hypothyroidism, as our physicians are not primary care providers and are not able to offer medication management for other conditions at this time.
Hyperthyroidism, we believe, is best treated through continuous monitoring of a patient's blood pressure and heart rate, which our remote care model cannot currently support."

is TPO normal in secondary hypothyroidism,"In secondary hypothyroidism, TPO antibodies (TPOAb) are usually normal because the condition is not caused by an autoimmune attack on the thyroid (like Hashimoto’s). Instead, secondary hypothyroidism results from issues with the pituitary gland or hypothalamus, which affect TSH production.
However, if TPO antibodies are elevated, it could indicate an autoimmune component coexisting with secondary hypothyroidism. If you’re unsure about your results, a thyroid specialist can help interpret them! 😊"

"I have been losing handfuls & brushfuls of hair. Told my doctor, she ordered a complete thyroid blood work up with a very notable lab-Quest. I have been o. T","It sounds like you’ve been experiencing significant hair loss, and your doctor ordered a comprehensive thyroid panel through Quest. If you’re on thyroid medication (T4, T3, or both), hair loss can still occur due to:
🔹 Thyroid levels not being optimal – Even if labs are “normal,” imbalances in Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, or TSH can contribute to hair thinning.
🔹 Nutrient deficiencies – Low iron (ferritin), vitamin D, zinc, or biotin can lead to excessive shedding.
🔹 Medication adjustments – Recent dosage changes can cause temporary hair loss as your body adapts.
🔹 Autoimmune activity – If you have Hashimoto’s, ongoing inflammation may contribute to hair thinning.
Next Steps
✔️ Review your full thyroid panel (not just TSH)
✔️ Check ferritin, iron, vitamin D, and zinc levels
✔️ Support hair health with protein, collagen, and key nutrients
✔️ Discuss with your doctor if adjusting your thyroid medication is needed"

The insurance costs of NP thyroid,"The cost of NP Thyroid with insurance depends on your specific plan, coverage, and pharmacy. Hey i was just wondering if your thyroid vitamin would replace a multivitamin. I'm looking for something specifically for thyroid. But I noticed it doesn't have everything a multivitamin would have like vitmain E and other things. Thanks?,"Great question! Our Thyroid Daily Care vitamin is specifically formulated to support thyroid health with key nutrients like selenium, iodine, zinc, and vitamin D. However, it’s not designed to fully replace a multivitamin since it doesn’t include everything a standard multivitamin would, like vitamin E and some other general nutrients.
If you’re looking for comprehensive support, you might consider pairing it with a general multivitamin or ensuring you get any missing nutrients through your diet."

with thyroidectomy its it better to have a high or low TSH ?,"After a thyroidectomy, the ideal TSH level depends on the reason for the surgery:
🔹 For thyroid cancer patients, a lower TSH (suppressed but not too low) is often preferred to reduce the risk of cancer recurrence.
🔹 For non-cancer patients (e.g., goiter, nodules, or Graves’ disease), a TSH within the normal range (around 0.5–2.5 mIU/L) is typically best to prevent hypothyroid symptoms.
Too high a TSH could indicate under-treatment (leading to fatigue, weight gain, and brain fog), while too low a TSH might mean over-treatment (causing anxiety, heart palpitations, and bone loss).
Regular monitoring helps find the optimal balance based on how you feel and your health history."

i have low thyroid and the doctor has blood drawn every 90 days is that too much,"For most people with low thyroid (hypothyroidism), checking levels every 90 days is common, especially if your medication dosage is being adjusted or your doctor is monitoring changes. Once stabilized, testing every 6-12 months may be enough. If you’re feeling well and your levels are steady, you can ask your doctor if less frequent testing is an option. Let us know if you need help understanding your results! 😊"

Just sign up for a membership, book a telehealth visit with a thyroid specialist, and get a personalized treatment plan based on lab results and symptoms. No lengthy approval process—just expert care when you need it! Let us know if you have any questions. 😊"

This can include options ranging from Levothyroxine to NDT, LDN, or combination treatment. Please note that our practice does not offer T3-only treatment."

Why did your website say my appointment would cost $110,"I apologize if our website is not fully updated, but we currently do not offer visits without a Paloma membership. Let me know if you have any questions!"

could keto be impacting my thyroid function,"Yes, the keto diet can impact thyroid function, especially if followed long-term. Here’s how:
🔹 Lower T3 Levels: Keto can reduce active thyroid hormone (Free T3) since the body conserves energy when carbs are restricted. This doesn’t always mean hypothyroidism, but it can affect metabolism.
🔹 Increased Reverse T3 (RT3): Some people see a rise in RT3, which can block active thyroid hormone, leading to fatigue and slower metabolism.
🔹 Impact on Cortisol & Stress Hormones: A very low-carb diet may increase stress hormones (cortisol), which can suppress thyroid function in some people.
🔹 Iodine & Nutrient Deficiencies: Keto often limits iodine-rich foods (like dairy & certain grains) and may reduce selenium or zinc intake, all of which are crucial for thyroid health.
If you’re experiencing fatigue, weight gain, or worsening thyroid symptoms on keto, it may be worth adjusting your carb intake or checking your thyroid levels. Would you like help reviewing your labs? 😊"

I have heard you won't treat people with supressed tsh that are on meds.  Is that true,"Long-term suppression of TSH can result in adverse effects such as irregular heart rhythm or low bone density and osteoporosis. Therefore, the current American Thyroid Association (ATA) guidelines recommend keeping TSH suppressed only in patients with persistent cancer or high risk of recurrence. At Paloma Health, we are happy to help all hypothyroid patients but it is unlikely that our providers will agree to keep a suppressed TSH."

"Oh, that is just lovely! Thank you for explaining that!
Is the $75 just a discounted price if you were to need more than that you original kits included?",$75 is the member price of the At-Home Test Kit. No free kits are included with the Paloma Health membership.

where are you located?,"Paloma Health is a virtual clinic offering telehealth visits to patients in 40 states across the U.S. Let me know your state of residence, and I’d be happy to confirm if we’re available in your area!"

Does the thyroid daily care supplement contain ashwagandha?,"No, Thyroid Daily Care does not contain ashwagandha. While ashwagandha is sometimes used for thyroid support, it can stimulate thyroid hormone production, which may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with Hashimoto’s.
If you’re looking for specific ingredients or have concerns about interactions, let us know—we’re happy to help! 😊"

I have hypotroidi syndrom,"At Paloma Health, we specialize in helping people with hypothyroidism. We offer at-home thyroid blood test kits, online consultations with thyroid doctors, and personalized treatment plans. Our goal is to help you feel better, faster. Have you been diagnosed with hypothyroidism by a doctor?"

"hi if i was being over medicated and my provider decided to stop medication , when will my symptoms go away","Symptoms should improve as your body adjusts, but timing varies. It can take a few weeks for hormone levels to stabilize. If symptoms persist, follow up with your provider to reassess. Let us know if you need support!"

Red light therapy,"Red light therapy (also called low-level laser therapy or photobiomodulation) has gained interest for its potential benefits in thyroid health. Some studies suggest that it may help improve thyroid function, reduce inflammation, and even support tissue repair in people with conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
However, while early research is promising, red light therapy is not a replacement for standard thyroid treatments like medication and lifestyle changes. If you’re considering it, we recommend discussing it with your healthcare provider to ensure it aligns with your specific needs."

Can I go to the lab instead of using thyroid test kit,"Yes! If the at-home thyroid test kit isn’t a good fit for you, we can help you order lab testing at a local lab instead. We partner with Labcorp and Quest Diagnostics, so you can visit a nearby location for your blood draw.
Let us know if you’d like assistance setting that up! 😊"

is there a follow up call to review my results,"Yes. With the purchase of an At-Home Test Kit, we offer an optional Results Review call with a member of our Clinical Operations team. Please note that Results Review calls do not provide a diagnosis and are not meant to replace treatment from a thyroid physician."

my daughter has Hashimoto's and is experiencing a flare up with swollen feet and ankles. where is Paloma located,"Paloma Health is a virtual clinic, so we don’t have a physical location—you can access our thyroid specialists online from 40 states across the U.S.
Swollen feet and ankles during a Hashimoto’s flare-up could be due to inflammation, fluid retention, or hypothyroid-related circulation issues. It’s important to monitor symptoms and check thyroid levels to ensure medication is optimized.
Would you like help scheduling a telehealth visit with one of our thyroid specialists? 😊"

I want to know how to stimulate the thyorid for a healthy thyroid,"Supporting a healthy thyroid involves a combination of nutrition, lifestyle, and medical care. Here are some key ways to help stimulate and maintain thyroid function:
✅ Eat nutrient-rich foods – Selenium (Brazil nuts), iodine (seaweed), and zinc (pumpkin seeds) support thyroid hormone production.
✅ Manage stress – Chronic stress can impact thyroid function. Try mindfulness, deep breathing, or yoga.
✅ Prioritize sleep – Poor sleep affects hormone balance, including thyroid function.
✅ Exercise regularly – Moderate movement supports metabolism and overall endocrine health.
✅ Limit toxins – Reduce exposure to endocrine disruptors found in plastics, processed foods, and non-natural beauty products.
✅ Check your thyroid levels – Regular testing helps catch imbalances early.
Want to check your thyroid health? We can help! 😊"

can i meet with a physicial online and get diagnosed,"Yes, you can meet with a provider online through Paloma Health. The annual fee covers access to our providers, care managers, and other resources, including personalized treatment plans, ongoing support, and educational materials. The visit fee is charged for each live video visit with one of our doctors. For Self-Pay members, visits are $60. Can get labs done outside of of you guys and then send you the results? I can't afford the At-Home Test Kit.,"I understand that cost can be a concern when it comes to healthcare. You can definitely use a lab outside of Paloma Health and upload your results on your Paloma portal. You don't have to use the Paloma test kit.
If you already have lab results from another lab, you can upload these as well but you will need recent labs (less than 4-month old) to be able to meet with a doctor"

Do you prescribe T3 only?,"No we don't prescribe T3 only (without T4). Liothyronine (L-T3) alone is not a good replacement option in hypothyroidism even though it is the active hormone because of a shorter half-life requiring twice a day dosing and causing peaks of high levels of T3 that can lead to additional problems including osteoporosis and atrial fibrillation.
There are 3 treatment options for hypothyroid patients through Paloma Health
- Levothyroxine (T4-only), which includes generic and brand-name levothyroxine preparations.
- Levothyroxine plus liothyronine (T4+T3)
- Natural desiccated thyroid (NDT).
If you have specific questions about T3-only treatment or would like to discuss it further, I recommend reaching out to our team at contact@palomahealth.com. They will be happy to assist you."

With your Centivo plan, you gain complimentary access to a Paloma Health membership. This membership allows you to connect with providers, nutritionists, and coaches for specialized thyroid care and support. Please note, while the membership itself is at no cost, any in-person or virtual services you receive from Paloma Health providers are considered specialist visits. As such, these services are subject to the standard member cost share under your plan. For in-person care, Paloma Health can also help you find high-performing providers in your area"

Can I order only FT4 instead of the full kit?,"Currently, Paloma Health only offers the full thyroid test kit, which includes TSH, Free T3, Free T4, TPO antibodies, and optional Reverse T3. We don’t offer single-marker testing like FT4 alone, but if you need just one test, you may be able to order it through a local lab like Labcorp or Quest instead.
Let us know if we can help! 😊"

Can membership be paid by check,"Unfortunately, we do not accept any payments by check. Payments can be made using a credit or debit card, and eligible purchases can be made using an HSA or FSA card."

I have Hashimotos and within the last 1yr I have been putting on weight and not eating any different than normal.  I am taking mounjaburn daily to lose weight but I have only gained.  Therefore while checking on this online today brought me to this sight concerning losing eight with Hashimotos and using myo-inositol.  And I have never heard of this before.  Can you further comment on this?,"Yes! Weight gain with Hashimoto’s can be frustrating, especially when lifestyle habits haven’t changed. Since Hashimoto’s affects metabolism, even well-managed thyroid levels may not fully prevent weight gain.
Myo-Inositol and Hashimoto’s
Myo-inositol is a naturally occurring compound that plays a role in insulin sensitivity, hormone regulation, and thyroid function. Some studies suggest that myo-inositol, when combined with selenium, may help:
✅ Reduce TSH levels and improve thyroid function
✅ Lower inflammation and TPO antibodies in Hashimoto’s
✅ Support metabolic health and insulin sensitivity, which can aid weight loss
Why Mounjaro Might Not Be Working for You
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is designed to regulate appetite and blood sugar, but Hashimoto’s-related metabolic resistance can sometimes slow progress. If you’re still gaining weight, possible reasons include:
•Thyroid levels need adjustment (even “normal” levels might not be optimal)
•Insulin resistance is impacting weight regulation
•Underlying inflammation or gut health issues affecting metabolism
Next Steps
🔹 Consider testing Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, and insulin levels
🔹 Talk to your provider about adding myo-inositol + selenium
🔹 Adjusting thyroid meds (if needed) for optimal—not just normal—levels

I have low TSH (<0.01) and I have read where you do not take patients with low TSH. My TSH has always been low,"We do see patients with low TSH, but our focus is on ensuring safe and effective treatment. Since TSH <0.01 can sometimes indicate overmedication or another thyroid condition, our providers carefully review full thyroid labs (Free T3, Free T4, symptoms, and medical history) to determine the best course of care.
If your TSH has always been low and you’re feeling well, we can discuss your case and make sure your treatment is optimized. Let us know if you’d like to schedule a visit! 😊"

"Why does Eltroxin cause dry intestines, dry mouth, dry skin, dry nose inspite of drinking alot of water?","Great question! Eltroxin, which is a brand name for levothyroxine, is a medication commonly used to treat hypothyroidism. While dryness of the intestines, mouth, skin, and nose are not commonly reported side effects of levothyroxine, it's important to note that everyone's body can react differently to medications.
Dryness in these areas can be caused by a variety of factors, including dehydration, environmental factors, or other underlying conditions. It's possible that the symptoms you're experiencing may be unrelated to the medication itself.
If you're experiencing persistent dryness or any other concerning symptoms, I recommend reaching out to your healthcare provider. They can evaluate your specific situation and provide guidance on how to manage these symptoms effectively.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team at contact@palomahealth.com. We're here to support you!"
