Dr. Linda (Sunny) Goggin MD was a registered nurse before getting an MD from Emory University. Her career has spanned the gamut of healthcare, nursing assistant, ICU nurse, rural country doc--from house calls to running the ER, Health Department Director, hospitalist, and solo Functional Medicine practice.
Driven by personal mystery illness, Dr. G made a deep dive into integrative medicine to find the root cause, leading to extensive training in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine and The Living Proof Institute, as well as mentorships in complex medical illness with Dr. Neil Nathan and Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker. Her current focus is optimizing thyroid function using functional medicine tools, reverse aging through epigenetics, using cutting-edge biotechnologies, and biohacking.
Dr. Goggin loves getting out "into the woods" for fun. Hiking and s-u-p-e-r s-l-o-w jogging in beautiful places, skiing in the high mountains, and loving on her family...these are her passions. Helping people create health possibilities- whether that means getting up the gumption to actually join the Granny Basketball league (ooh yes--that's a thing!) or just brave the walk to the mailbox...that's what gets her jazzed. She has 3 teenagers, some super cute fur babies (2 dogs and a cat that rules the world) and hopes to change the life of each person to whom she speaks.
Why I am passionate about treating patients with hypothyroidism:
I feel that folks with thyroid challenges have been misunderstood, misguided, and deserve better. The thyroid interacts with all the hormonal systems and needs to be addressed in proportion to the unique control and interaction it has with the whole body. I have seen so many clients (and family members) suffer unnecessarily with low energy, that it has become a driving force to help those people find their stride, feel awesome, and find their absolute best health.
My approach to treating hypothyroidism is:
I use a personalized approach to managing thyroid challenges. This is not a "one size fits all". You are unique; we will use advanced laboratory testing to determine the balance in your body and how we can optimize YOUR system. Of course, we look at all the systems to create harmony.
