About

Dr Dennis Chernin

Dr. Dennis Chernin received his Bachelor of Art from Northwestern University and his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan. He did residencies in psychiatry and preventive medicine and is board certified in preventive medicine.

As a healthcare provider, Dr. Chernin is dedicated to providing holistic medical care to patients who live with thyroid issues like hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and Hashimoto's disease (an autoimmune disease).

Though he has never completely left his conventional medicine training, Dr. Chernin currently practices holistic and family medicine using nutrition, yoga, exercise, breathing exercises, meditation therapies, homeopathy, and allopathic medication when necessary. Dr. Cherin finds that problems with the thyroid gland are very amendable to these alternative therapies and treatment plans.

Besides clinical medicine, Dr. Chernin is the medical director of three county public health departments at lectures at the University of Michigan Medical School. He is also a certified yoga teacher, teaching meditation and breathing techniques worldwide for over forty-seven years.

When Dr. Chernin is not treating thyroid patients, he teaches and studies Chinese martial arts, leads a kirtan (yoga chanting) group, and paints abstract landscapes and portraits with acrylics. He is also the author of several books about meditation, yoga, holistic medicine, chakras, breathwork.

E
First visit but definitely seems to be a very caring and smart physician. Listened to what I said and picked up on something that has been ignored by other docs for 15 years. Looking forward to better thyroid health..
A
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 20+ years ago and for the first time I finally feel heard. My experience with Paloma has been nothing short of amazing. Each interaction I have had been one of caring and concern. I had my first visit today with Dr. Chernin and was very impressed with his kindness and compassion. I'm actually looking forward to my next Dr. appointment!

Once you find the perfect fit of your Dr., you are set for success in your best health journey.
S
Great experience! My doctor listens, has ordered labs that have been very helpful; especially since I found out I was low in specific areas and have since improved with taking supplements.
J
Wonderful doctor, immediate solution, great experience! Do not wait to get help at Paloma! Treated me like a person, and not just a patient!
C
Dr Chernin is the best. He listens and cares about his patients.
M
Recommend for those that want their thyroid problems to be taken seriously by doctors that actually care. It is also very affordable in my opinion, about $40 per visit which is great if you don't have insurance. Dr. Chernin is kind, professional, thorough and listens and answers all your questions. We are continuing care until my symptoms are under control and near non existent which is great because thyroid problems have been plaguing my life for years. I'm just glad I'm finally getting help. Highly recommend.
